Introduction

Information Network Laboratory (InfoNet) grows out of the Laboratory of Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) founded in 1988 by Professor Li Jin-sheng. As one of the core members of Anhui province key lab of Wireless Information Network(WinLab), InfoNet has been engaging in basic research and key technology development of Networks. By now, InfoNet has undertaken more than 20 national, provincial and military projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major projects for science and technology development, National High Technology R&D Program of China (863 Program), Project of China Next Generation Internet (CNGI), national project of Key Technologies Research. Meanwhile, InfoNet is one of the earliest labs that devote to research and application of IPv6 in China. Recently, with the development of technologies and applications of next generation networks, the attention of InfoNet has focused on P2P, stream media, architecture of wireless distributed networks (Ad-hoc networks, wireless mesh networks, DTN, etc.), mobile IPv6, network coding, network security, etc. At present, various research programs and projects are under way in our lab, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Technologies R&D Program , National High-tech R&D Program (863 program), etc.

Besides, InfoNet has also undertaken the teaching work of undergraduate and graduate. We attempt to ensure the teaching content keep pace with the development of network technology and the progress on academic research and infuse them into courses and experiments. We offer three compulsory courses, including Computer Networks for undergraduates of School of Information Science and Technology, Network security protocols for undergraduates majoring in network security and Information Networks and Protocols for graduates of discipline of communication and Information Systems.

InfoNet is composed of 3 professors, 1 associate researcher, 2 post-doctoral researcher, 18 doctoral students and 56 graduate students.
